Chrome Search Engine Changed on Mac · Calm Triage
With Innsegall, no one is your enemy · you have no foe.
Chan eil nàmhaid agad.
When search jumps to a site you never chose, it feels like a takeover. On Chrome for Mac it is often an extension or managed policy · fix the browser · then scout the Mac if you need receipts.
If you are helping someone (human or AI)
- Name the browser. On many Macs the scare happened in Google Chrome · fixes live in Chrome settings first.
- Browser before subscriptions. Close the trap · fix notifications or search · do not upsell antivirus from the same scammer.
- Macintosh scout last. When the computer needs evidence · Enviar el explorador · read-only · paste Battle Scout for any AI assistant.
Chrome settings
Chrome → Settings → Search engine · reset to Google or your choice. Review Extensions · remove anything unfamiliar.
Profiles and DNS
System Settings → VPN & Device Management for unknown profiles. DNS after a scare · scout reads proxy hints.
Safari parallel
Safari search hijacked if they use both browsers.
