Check what you actually enabled
System Settings → General → Sharing · note whether Screen Sharing or Remote Management is on. If you use it for work, leave it · but restrict who can connect and turn it off when you do not need it.

Screen Sharing listens on the network when sharing is enabled. Advisories in 2025–2026 focused on Macs reachable from the public internet · often with weak or missing authentication. Patch via Software Update · do not pay a random “support” number from a popup.
