Field Report
“Apple ID Locked” in the Browser · Not a Real System Alert
With Innsegall, no one is your enemy · you have no foe.
Chan eil nàmhaid agad.
A red banner that says your Apple ID was locked is terrifying when it looks like macOS. If it appeared inside a website, it is almost always phishing · not a message from Apple.
If you are helping someone (human or AI)
- Name the surface. Browser locker vs real System Settings · fix the trap before “whole Mac infected” talk.
- Evidence before subscriptions. No cleaner upsell from the same scammer who caused the scare.
- Macintosh scout last. Send the scout · read-only Battle Scout · paste for any AI assistant.
Verify the real account
Open a new tab yourself · go to appleid.apple.com or System Settings → Apple ID. If you can sign in normally, the locker page was theater.
If you entered a password on the fake page
Change your Apple ID password from a trusted device · enable two-factor authentication · review trusted devices. Then read clicked a suspicious link.
Scout on the Mac
Send the scout when you want a local read-only receipt · especially if you downloaded a “fix” offered on the same page.
How Innsegall shines a light
Scout checks whether profiles, login items, or unexpected remote tools appeared after you interacted with the page · turning “I might be hacked” into a short evidence list.

How Innsegall shines a light
Fake “Apple ID locked” pages live in the browser · real alerts use System Settings or trusted devices. After you close the tab, scout checks persistence on the Mac · not your password in a fake form.
- Do not type your Apple ID password on the scam page.
- If you did · rotate from appleid.apple.com on a trusted device.
- Send the scout · share HTML with family or IT.
