Mac Notifications That Look Like Virus Alerts (They Usually Aren't)

Corner-of-screen alerts that mimic macOS or antivirus are a top Reddit and Apple Community pain point. Most are web push notifications you allowed once, not malware in the OS.
Fix in Safari
Safari → Settings → Websites → Notifications · select shady sites → Deny or Remove. Turn off “Allow websites to ask for permission to send notifications” if you never want the prompt.
